Poetry Contests!!!

Hello! Hello!
WOW! I am finally alive from my crazy plane flight last week. It turned out to be a nightmare.  Once I got onto the first flight I just had this weird feeling I couldn't shake and sure enough...I was suppose to be home at 3:30pm but instead I got in around 11pm.  Nothing like several crazy flights, 2 1/2 hours waiting in lines, running through airports, crazy mad passengers, and lost luggage to tie me over and then a two hour drive from the airport in Warsaw. On Saturday I am happy to report that I received my luggage.  In a jet lagged stuper I opened my door signed for it and drug it into my apartment and went right back to sleep. ;)

I didn't get a ton of pictures from the wedding because my camera battery went out on me just before the wedding and didn't know how to fix it.  Here are 2 that I stole from my mom. :)  It was a great time to hang out with family.  My uncle even flew in from Virginia and it was even more special to have him there.

School though this week has gotten off to a busy but great start.  I knew coming back there would be lots of work for the next three weeks. I that has helped me to prepare and start to brainstorm some of the stuff. My parents arrive this weekend so I have been preparing for their trip and getting things in place before they get here.  Between my doing things with my parents and others coming and going too it's one thing after another so we for sure won't get bored around here. :)  Easter is just around the corner and I plan to spend the time with one of my Polish families again this year.  There will also be a team from America here before Easter and they will helping at the school.  Today I just received word about a poetry contest coming up in three weeks so tonight I spent time picking out poems that I didn't use last year and refining the list of students I'd like to participate in the contest. We almost won last year so this year I am working hard with these students so that we can place. :)  Even if we don't place I like to give the kids baskets of treats.  If you would like to send sets of 6 to me of something I'd love to give these to the students for their English Poetry contest.

Just before Easter we me and the pastors wife have been put in charge of doing the Easter production for the kids.  This means we will put something together for the kids to learn about Easter.  A lot of times they have done a craft activity night for the kids and the parents. This year we wanted to do something for the kids to really learn about what Christ did on the cross.  That is still in the works of getting figured out. We have the idea to do a kids Labyrinth sort of thing.  I'll keep you posted and take some pictures of it for you all.

I hate that things have been so busy that I find myself sitting and updating the blog and have this mass update of all kinds of activities at once.  :-/

As I prepare to wrap things up in Poland I do this with mixed emotions. I was able to catch up with a friend while I was home and she asked if I was ready to leave. Parts of me say yes and parts of me say no.  I am ready and excited for the next step that God has for me.  I want to dream and dream big and not limit what ideas could come from in the next couple of months.  But at the same time my heart says no. :)  I love these people. I love that I have built these bonds with people here.  It is so great to get to share our lives together.  I also love that I know the language.  But just like with relationships in America things will continue after I leave.  I look forward to that one day. I read a friends blog who is in another country and she is finishing up work there.  She talked about how it's hard to leave people who are followers of Christ but that she will get to see them in eternity.  Then it was followed with how much harder it is when we work with a majority of people who don't follow Christ, and how much she wants to spend eternity with them too. I feel the same way. It's hard to step away but that's where we have to learn to take the step of faith that God is doing and will still be doing work in and around them. I'm excited to hear some of those stories in the future.
