Plane flights, pigtails and blessings

On my to do list for about two weeks I aphave wanted to update my blog. Just now when I am dealing again with jet lag am I up early with nothing to do. I am back this weekend in Colorado for a few days for my sisters wedding. They decided just a few weeks ago that they wanted to get married and offered to fly me home. I got in Friday afternoon and have been enjoying time with the family since then. On Wednesday I will head back to Poland. The last week of march my mom will arrive in Poland and I will be able to show her around. I am so excited for this opportunity. Over the past few weeks I have been talking to several of the ladies about my mom coming to visit and they are so excited to know more about me and my family. One of the interesting things we do when we go overseas is that we come into their culture and lives and we meet them and their families and we hope they are trusting of us. But I never thought about how much they might want to see our family since we get to see theirs. Especially in Poland family is so important to their culture. The ladies already have questions for my mom. I think this will be a neat opportunity to connect with them even more. I mentioned in my last post I believe that there were some things coming up in this semester but I wasn't sure what those were yet. This past week I was able to see more of what that is. :) as many of you know Afghanistan is still very much on my heart. I am not sure how, when, or if I'll be ever living there but I still want to continue to be involved as the future unfolds. At the beginning of this year my church in Colorado posted they were taking an educator focused trip in early June. I was very excited about this but wasn't sure how I could be involved in this. I first met with my directors in Poland to see if this was possible and the trip comes at a time of some days off from schoo. I then began to talk with a couple of close friends to see how crazy I really am. :). Then I began to look for discernment in even applying for the trip. I joined several people as we prayed if I should even apply. After the set aside time it seemed clear to apply. And this past week I had my interview and was accepted for this trip. This Tuesday we will have our first team meeting. I will be flying from Poland and meeting the team in Afghanistan. I am very excited for this opportunity. I am blown away by the way I've seen God moving through surrendering this to Him. I have seen the team roster and I am very excited to get to know this team over the next few months in any opportunity I get. Please be praying for our team and for us to be able to connect and encourage the teachers and students in afghanistan and also to be connecting with each other.
