Why not...

My weekend flew by and before I knew it, it was Monday again. In some ways that's great and in some ways I was dreading it. On Saturday I was able to spend a lot of time with my roommate and it was a lot of fun. Sunday I needed to work. When there is a festival in town we have to get out and promote the school. I made a ton of balloon animals! My fingers worked so hard they literally cramped and went numb on me. :(

Going into work today was a challenge. I love the teachers and they don't want me to leave!! They are asking me to stay longer than a year. :) While I love everything around here it's hard to go to work when you're not great or feeling confident at it. Today I felt like I had never taught before! When I left the first class my partner told me to hold the cards up and ask certain questions. All really good stuff but it was also simple and very basic stuff that someone whose taught before should be able to do. OY! Giving myself that grace to get use to teaching here is hard to do. The kids are doing fine but I feel so unprepared. I was able to play some fun games that I had prepared with the kids after lunch and they went over really well! I talked with my partner about it this evening and she said I did fine. I just wish I agreed :). I have realized it's only the 2nd week of teaching English so I need to be patient!

This week has quickly filled up and gotten busier. After work each day I go to test people for the language school. We start classes next week. I will actually have 2 classes and they said tonight that unfortunately it will be over different days. So my schedule starting next week will be working mon-Friday and then the evenings of Mon-Thurs. I'll be teaching at the language school. I will keep very busy!

The testing was actually pretty fun tonight. There was a group of us and we hung out and talked. It was with other Proem staff and so I was able to connect more with my team and get to know them. Other teachers from our school came in and they all requested me as their teacher but they can't get me because for their level they need someone who knows Polish and English and that's NOT me! I told them that it just means we have to hang out.
