Yesterday was the polish Thanksgiving Day. I didn't know it was a big deal with our church too until Saturday. In a town near by the first president of Poland went their to visit for Thanksgiving and so now every president goes there for Thanksgiving each year. Thanksgiving here is a time that they thank God for their crops. In the our church they decided to do a service about thanksgiving, very much like one you might see in the states around Thanksgiving time. Then they had dessert and coffee together. I was invited this weekend by a teacher and her family to go to their mother's house but because of the work this weekend i couldn't make it this time. At first I thought it was just to be nice and then i realized it had to do with Thanksgiving and they wanted to have me over for it. After church I grabbed lunch over at a friends house and she made the BEST apple cake I think I have EVER had in my entire life!!
Right now, I am currently working to make sure that I find time to just relax and be in peace. I want to make sure that while things get stressful and crazy I still take some time by "myself." I am currently working on finding small things that could be helpful to do. One great thing is that us teachers will be meeting every Friday to discuss what's going on in our classes and then we will be praying for each other during that time! I'm very excited for it!
I am still doing Polish lessons twice a week and it is HARD! Plenty of people are telling me what I need to do to learn the language but I just have to work at it and find a pace and what helps me learn it best! We just got our book for the polish lessons so I am excited that we will have a guide to show me what to learn. When I get back to the states I don't want to forget my Polish so I may need some people to speak polish with. ;)
I am sorry it's been a while since I last updated. I hope all is well!
