Today began the last week of work for me at The Bridge Project. It's been quite a ride the past two years. Numerous ups and downs but overall I've loved what I've been doing. For the first time I really found the type of work that I felt like I could see myself continuing to do for years. First, I accredit this to my amazing team! Shoutout to them! This team has been with me through all the ups and downs! We worked hard together to create amazing educational impacts for the youth we worked for. I felt like the students at their sites were my student and vis versa. I am a much better educator because of them! It's going to be hard to leave them. Secondly, the students! I know everyone says this but I literally have an incredible bunch of youth! They have pushed me in new ways, made me laugh, kept me up-to-date on the latest slang and allowed me to be a part of their stories for a portion of time. I will always carry them with me. Third, the incredible tech team members. We have high schoolers who we have come and work by teaching the younger youth about STEM. These kids are incredible! I've seen them grow so much. I love each of them dearly and will miss their faces.
Today we had our end of the summer party. Tomorrow is the last day with kids and then I work in the office the rest of the week. For the party the kids sang me a song. They rewrote the words to Seasons of Love.
Then they presented me with a picture and they all signed it. The sweetest!
Then of course we ended the day with cake! I mean how could you not love this face?!?!
I don't quite know how I'm going to make it through the rest of the week. I look forward to celebrating every moment with these guys and cherishing all the laughs and hugs that I have left with them.
