It's been quite a week!....Did I tell you it's only Wednesday? A friend and I sat at a coffee shop this evening talking about the fact that it has to be a full moon because the kids have just been off the walls this week! I've been exhausted after work every day. I'm starting to fall behind in my preparations! I need to have all of my boxes packed so I can begin the shipping process. But after working in a summer program all day with 80 kids it gets pretty tough to do more work at home. Fingers crossed I can catch up on Sunday.
I was talking with friends this past week about raising the money aspect for Poland. They asked why it's a slow process. I have to be honest, I think God is really stretching me and building my faith up! Even though we feel like God is clearly telling us to do something it still is a process! I feel that all the time. I think to myself, "I know God wants me to go so why isn't everything perfectly in place?" Of course, it's taking a step back and realizing it is coming into place. I just need to slow down and not move at MY pace. While I do get nervous from time to time about it all he really is building me up in the mix of it all. When I went last time I really didn't have a wide support base with Ministry Partners (you guys). It was really small. I struggled to get by. I've reflected and learned a lot since that time. God is helping me to trust him through the process and really pouring into people's lives. I'm studying and working so hard. While I know this isn't a gift of mine I do appreciate that I'm being pushed.
How was your fourth of July? We celebrated my dad's birthday on the 3rd. On the fourth I was invited to go with two families from work to join them for a picnic. The little guy in the picture is one of my favs. He is 2 (not even in the program), he is a sibling of several students. He has all of our hearts. The kids know when he comes he wants to see me. During the school year he would walk down the hall yelling "my rachel!" I will truly miss him! It was the best getting to spend time eating and talking with these families.
