Szalona

Last night I had about 6 women over to my house. It was a great time. While we mostly spoke polish (and I listened caused I'm better at that) ;) it was a great time. We all are connected some how but rarely any of us hang out together. I hang out with each of these women at different times each week. I love them. They are all a little crazy like me. In polish the word for good crazy is szalona. I was totally nervous getting them together because I knew they were all from different areas in life, some I work with, some go to church with me, and others I have met outside of Proem. But it turned out amazingly. I have never sat in my kitchen for so many hours! I started cooking on Thursday and set up all the food on Friday. Had it laid out in hopes that we'd all sit in my living room/bedroom because it was bigger. People started arriving and just hanging out in the kitchen as the night went on they continued to stay. I kept offering to move to the other room but they were completely comfortable. I was in shock. That is something that wouldn't happen in America. But in poland that is where they are comfortable and enjoy sitting...plus I was told it was near the food. ;) We pulled in more chairs and throughout the night shifted around the room. At one point one of the ladies came to me and said that she was totally amazed by this meeting together. She says she has never been to something like this before and it is the best she has ever been to. She said that she met with girls in college and once she got married hung out with married couples but never just hung out with women. She said it was the best meeting of her life. This brings tears to my eyes. It was worth ALL the time spent cleaning, cooking, and shopping for food. Today my heart overflows with thanksgiving for so many things but I am so thankful for each and everyone of these women and their beautiful hearts! Their laughter still rings and fills my apartment with joy.
