The weather here is turning very cold! Polish people bundle up even at the slightest breeze. Their buildings are so warm I tend to not wear a sweater inside and they think I am insane. Another trend here is to wear tights or nylons with and under everything (even the boys do in the preschool). When I where pants or leggings the old ladies will stop and star at my feet because they can tell I am not wearing anything. On Tuesday I put a pair of socks with my leggings and it made me laugh but no one asked any questions. :)
At our staff meeting on Tuesday we discussed the book that we were suppose to read over the past month. I was able to track it down in english but I only finished about half the book. The book was about the end times which is not a favorite topic of mine, nor do I understand all the different opinions. Unfortunately, there wasn't much discussion about the book. As a staff we are looking at different areas of theology. So, this past Tuesday we discussed the Holy Spirit. This month we will be reading a book about it...I'm not sure yet what book. :) One of our staff members did a talk about the Holy Spirit and in each group we looked at the Holy Spirit. I think we had some good discussions about it.
So the reason for my title is because of a funny little story. On Monday I went to the local "teacher store" (mainly just paper, paints, and notebooks). When I walked in the owner was so excited to see my friend. He asked her if "this was the american." Apparently she had been in the store telling them that she works with an American teacher. He was so sweet and was very excited to try out his english. I needed to buy a calendar so I stopped in on Tuesday and the owner remembered me. He was again very nice and his family all laughed that he was so excited. Then I was told last night that another teacher from the preschool was in there and he asked her if she worked with the american teacher. I think it is very funny! I love now having the perspective and attitude that this is now opening doors and planting seeds. Have a great weekend!
I am thinking the Polish people must know something. I suggest you start bundling up too. I will send boots in the next package with Bananas!
