Schedule?! What's that?

Today I had my first Polish lesson. It was very interesting to say the least. Actually, I think I should back up and talk about yesterday first!

When I arrived at school my partner told me that I would be teaching the english lesson that day. I mean that's not bad but since it was only my second day with the english program I was VERY nervous. I didn't really know what I was doing. With only about 5-10 minutes to prep I totally winged it. It wasn't my finest hour of teaching. It wasn't like I could learn some polish to use in my lesson in time. OY!

Luckily the teaching didn't last long and I was able to go back to my regular class. When I am in my regular class from 12-12:30 I am technically by myself. They give me another person that speaks polish and only a little english. Some days I do a craft and some days they do other things. Yesterday, I was didn't plan a craft and they didn't have anything either. Today I decided to plan a craft and they had things planned. I have no idea what the schedule is or if there is one so I kind of hang in limbo a lot of the time. After the day was over two teachers asked me to go shopping with them. I was soo excited!! We stopped by a second hand store and then a couple of shoe stores. We ended with a little coffee at the 'icafe.' It was a delightful afternoon. One of the teachers asked me to come over to dinner with her family and we hung out and played games all evening. I was thrilled that they wanted to hang out with me as talking with each other can take a lot of time. With dictionaries in hand we were able to walk into the city to shop and talk! Us girls have another trip planned for a mall close by on Friday evening. I unfortunately didn't bring a 'fall' jacket or 'fall' shoes so I need to find some for the days that aren't the best weather. :)

Today I started with my first polish lesson. As I mentioned earlier it was very interesting!! I was able though to use several of the phrases today in class which helps me to round the kids up to do things. The kids are warming up to me which is very nice and hopeful! After my lesson my partner and I went to teach english to all the classes. After the english lessons I was ready for a nap! I really wanted to be able to come home and watch a little tv on the couch...something mindless to let my brain relax from all the fun and work it's been doing the past couple of days. Maybe another day but at least I got my favorite chocolate for a treat tonight. The simple pleasures right?! :)
