Camp/Work

Yesterday was a pretty awesome day! I was able to travel to the town I'll be working in. It was so nice to get out and go visit. I helped clean up the school so it could be painted. I also got to go to this really nice coffee shop that I later found out is apart of the church. I have a feeling this little place will be my new favorite spot to sit and relax. Afterwards we came back to the camp for a camp fire dinner, Kilbasa (spelling?). The students at the camp had a talent show and I was able to cleanup. Thursday night during camp weeks is a leader party. They serve neck meat of a pig and grilled cheese with jam and fresh bread. I ate the grilled cheese (brie cheese) and jam. It was sooo good. I have heard this is a Polish tradition. This is something I will have to keep up. After the food we all had a wii dance party. It was a lot of fun! But around midnight I knew I needed to get some sleep. Earlier in the day I had heard about a "raid" on the cabins. I was frustrated my first night cause it happened but this time I knew it was coming. I happened to be up reading when they ran in and they saw me watch then and they took off. Their game this night was to turn off all the power. This way in the morning people are without hot water! Having been here a couple of days I knew who it was!

Yesterday and this morning I had teacher meetings. Yesterday it was just with the English teachers for the language school. They are a pretty hilarious group. I am not sure what age I will be teaching for that. They said possibly adults which I'm a little nervous about! This morning I went to the preschool and elementary school meeting. It looks like I'll be helping to teach preschool. They have it broken up into small groups by age but I can't remember which age is in our group. No one at the preschool speak english. I heard my teacher is hilarious but has not idea about English! So I will need to quickly be able to learn as much of the language as I can. It was a WONDERFUL meeting. She talked a lot about how we need to love each other and set an example by how we love each other and how awesome it is to live a life with Christ! We also need to be patient and forgiving! Such a good reminder and perfect thing to talk about at the beginning of the school year.

The rest of my day is pretty relaxed. I hope to eventually have a nap since I am getting a cough/loosing my voice. I think it's funny that I have lost my voice and yet I don't talk a lot because I can't speak Polish yet. Tomorrow I move into a house with a family for a week. I am THRILLED to be doing this. Then we are praying that a lady from the school will allow me to live with her which would save some money!

By the way-it is August and almost 1 in the afternoon and I am wearing sweater and STILL cold. This could be a long winter. I am thinking even though I brought my warm clothes and sweaters it still isn't enough. :( That is all for now.
